  • Completion of 60 CEUs of approved courses, workshops, seminars, or webinars in basic nutrition, including such topics as vitamins, minerals, enzymes, soluble fiber, insoluble fiber, absorption and supplementation.

  • Completion of a 10 CEU approved course in writing informed consent forms from an NTCW-approved program or instructor.
  • Completion of a 15 CEU, 30 clock hour approved practicum in nutrition.
  • Technician certification candidates please note:

  • Only NTCW-approved instructors and programs are approved by NCB to provide CEUs for the Professional Practices, Professional Ethics, Informed Consent Forms, and Coaching blueprint requirements.
  • An application for CNT must be submitted on your behalf by your employer, and accompanied by payment from your employer.
  • Your CNT certification is valid only while you remain in the employ of the same person, practice, or company who filed and paid for your application. If you leave that job your certification becomes void and your new employer must apply for a new certification for you.
  • Certified Nutrition Coach

In order to qualify for NCB certification as a Certified Nutrition Coach™ (CNC), the candidate must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Completion of 60 CEUs of approved courses, workshops, seminars, or webinars in basic nutrition, including such topics as vitamins, minerals, enzymes, soluble fiber, insoluble fiber, absorption and supplementation.
  • Completion of a 10 CEU approved course in professional practice from an NTCW-approved program or instructor.
  • Completion of a 10 CEU approved course in professional ethics from an NTCW-approved program or instructor.
  • Completion of a 10 CEU approved course in writing informed consent forms from an NTCW-approved program or instructor.
  • Completion of a 15 CEU, 30 clock hour approved practicum in nutrition.
  • Completion of 60 CEUs in approved intermediate and advanced nutrition topics. These CEUs may be gained through approved courses, workshops, seminars, or webinars.
  • Completion of 30 CEUs in an approved basic coaching skills workshop from Coach4Nutrition or an equivalent program.
  • Completion of a 500 hour, 50 CEU internship with a qualified practitioner.
  • Coach certification candidates please note:

  • Only NTCW-approved instructors and programs are approved by NCB to provide CEUs for the Professional Practices, Professional Ethics, Informed Consent Forms, and Coaching blueprint requirements.
  • Due to changes in its programs, as of summer 2011 NTCW now requires that students take Professional Practices, Professional Ethics, and Informed Consent Forms as prerequisites for Coaching; therefore coaching can no longer be taken as a stand-alone class.
  • Those NTCW courses that are offered free of charge and do not carry CEUs do not fulfill NCB blueprint requirements. Only those NTCW classes which carry CEUs qualify.
  • You are welcome to apply for certification immediately if you meet the blueprint requirements. Please contact us if you have any questions; we'll be happy to help you find out if the CNC certification fits your career plans, and whether you currently qualify or will need additional training.
